Whistable Umbrella Community Centre is heavily dependent on a small group of passionate volunteers who regularly donate their talents, energy and skills to help us build something special for those who live in our town. If you would like to volunteer we are current looking for:
One of the much valued services our centre offers are trips to local sites, for our parasol/mental health group among others. We are looking for people with a clean, standard driving licence who would be willing to drive the 15 seater minibus that we recently received from the Department of Transport Community Minibus Fund. The short trips take half a day or so, generally no more than 7 hours in total. Due to the insurance requirements, there is an age restrictions: drivers have to be over 25 and under 70 years old. If you would like more information, please contact our office administrators on firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you enjoy meeting new people and helping provide advice and support? Our receptionists provide information and guidance to the hundreds of people who use the centre each work. One of our most popular roles, receptionists play an important role in making our space welcoming and inclusive to all. You can help for 2 hours or more: it is a great way to learn more about the centre! For details about how you could help click here.
HELPERS FOR THE TODDLERS PLAY AND STAY GROUP
If you like working with children, we have a popular Play and Stay group on Monday mornings, from 9.30am-11am. Currently the mums using the group volunteer as well, but we could do with some other people helping out: this includes setting up and tidying things away, making tea and coffee for the parents and generally just keeping an eye out or playing with the children. We don't need you to be there every week: we use a rota so the time commitment is not huge. If you would like more information, please contact our office administrators on email@example.com
Do you want to help shape Whitstable Umbrella Community Centre and its work? Trustees play a vital role in ensuring our charity is financially viable and focused on serving the needs of the community in an engaging and appropriate way. Click here for a detailed job description
If you would like to discuss any of these volunteering opportunities, we would be really pleased to hear from you. Please call the office on 01227 274880 or email firstname.lastname@example.org

SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEERS
We have an active Facebook page and a Twitter account (which is underused!), and we could really do with someone to help us manage these. This can be done from home, in your own time, or in the office alongside the office administrator. We would need someone with some experience using social media, but we are happy to teach you how to be an administrator! If you would like more information, please contact our office administrators on email@example.com
