Marilyn Richards

Marilyn initially joined the Trustees as Secretary, her background in the City helped inform her role. She stepped up to the role of Chair in 2017 with dedication and vigour. Marilyn is a keen cyclist and loves to spend her free time at her beach hut.

Chris Cornell

Chris has been a Trustee at the Umbrella Centre on and off for 6 years. His vision and drive brought about a new, prosperous direction for the WUCC and allowed the centre to flourish once again as a welcoming and busy centre for all. Chris runs a number of youth work activities in town and is a city councillor.

Diane Aslett

Diane is our funding and bid writing expert and is a valuable asset to the Board with her wealth of knowledge and experience in the charity sector and fundraising.

Nicki Leggatt

Nicki brings many skills to the role of Trustee, she currently oversees Health and Safety policy at the WUCC. She is also active in local singing and music groups.

Stephanie Brunton

Stephanie is our digital lead, assisting in the creation of website development and social media. Stephanie is a gifted artist and cellist.

Mary White

Mary has had a long and varied career as a teacher and in HR working at strategic and operational level in local authority, Not for Profit organisations and charities. Mary brings a wealth of knowledge and invaluable experience as our HR expert and Safe-guarding lead. Mary is also a keen gardener and dedicates her time to a number of local and international causes.

Mike Robinson

Mike joined the board as a representative for the community that we serve. Mike is a long time attendee of our Parasol group that runs weekly at the centre. Mike loves to travel and has organised trips and outings for several local groups.

David Fisher

David has worked with the Umbrella Centre since 2002, taking the role of Chair for several years. His forward-thinking approach has brought about great improvements and changes at the centre. David is our I.T specialist, helping to develop the I.T Suite and its programme of events.

Rebecca Sansom

Rebecca is a long-standing member of the board of Trustees bringing her expertise in corporate business to the role. Having previously undertaken roles as HR representative and more recently as Treasurer Rebecca has recently stepped down from a specific responsibility due to her full time work commitments but remains a dedicated member of the board.

Anna Fewings

Anna has lived locally since 1993. Initially working for a local shellfish company and then as an occupational therapist. Having taken early retirement she now helps run the  Whitstable Sessions Music Club. She became a trustee in September 2019.
